Spring is here, and if you’re like most people, you’re ready to emerge from the cold and dark months with a pep in your step and reinvent yourself the same way nature does during this time of year. One of the most important things you can do to adopt the spring spirit of renewal and refreshment is to indulge in serious self-love and attention.

In addition to spring cleaning your home, why not discard the old habits that may be weighing you down and fill yourself with things that bring you joy and make you look and feel your best? Keep reading for the spring self-care essentials to revive your mind, body, and soul this season. 

1. Turn Back Time 

There was a time when medical spa procedures were seen as an indulgence reserved for celebrities and the elite, but that’s no longer true. Not only are filler and botox more affordable than ever, but they’re also widely accepted as something people in their twenties and beyond do on a routine basis. Could you look more awake and refreshed after a long winter? A few injections can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, give you a more rested appearance, and reduce your risk of migraines.

2. Rework Your Wardrobe 

Nothing can make you feel renewed like new clothing. Fashion is one of the easiest ways to let the world around us know about who we are without saying a word. While it’s tempting to stick with products you’ve grown up using, as seasons change (literally with weather and life seasons), our skin needs also change. Spring brings with it healthy and seasonal fruits and veggies, and one of the ultimate acts of self-care is nourishing your body with whole, healthy foods. You may also start planting your spring garden this season, and while you may only be able to reap the fruits of your labor in summer, gardening has been shown to have positive physical and mental health benefits. So commit to eating seasonally and possibly growing your own. 

5. Get Outdoors!

We spend so much of the winter months hibernating due to the cold and harsh weather, and spring is the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty that is springing up all around you. Spending time outdoors is great for mindfulness, a cornerstone of self-love, and it also provides essential Vitamin D, critical to overall health and wellness. If you don’t consider yourself the “outdoorsy” type, start with simply enjoying long walks through your neighborhood or local parks. Ask a friend to join you and get the added health benefit of socialization.

Nothing can cheer your mood like a beautiful vase of flowers – for many people; they’re a mainstay in their home no matter the month or season. But, as we all know – April showers bring May flowers – so this is the perfect time of year to boost your mood daily by always having a vase of gorgeous seasonal flowers in your home. Whether they come from your home garden or you stop by your local farmers market each weekend, this small act of self-love can create a big impact.
